Cavalier

Description: To become a Cavalier, a player must be a 5th Rank Fighter and must have a Noble title. Players that become Cavaliers start over at Rank 1. Cavaliers must wear a holy symbol and a sash to represent their alignment -- white or yellow for good, gray or tan for neutral, black or purple for evil. Cavaliers are required to wear chain mail, scale mail, plate mail or banded armor in combat. Outside combat they must wear proper attire to represent their station. Cavaliers are of lawful alignment and follow the Code of Chivalry. Cavaliers may not use missle weapons.

Material: Holy Symbol -- Area Effected: 1 creature
After 1 minute of chanting to a deity while remaining motionless, the Cavalier may heal a single light wound.

Rank 1 - Cure Disease - Adventure Spell
Length: 30 second meditation -- Cost: 1 point
Range: Touch -- Duration: Permanent
Material: Holy Symbol -- Area Effected: 1 creature
After 1 minute of chanting to a deity while remaining motionless, the Cavalier may heal any disease (to the discretion of the Elders).

Rank 2 - Speak with Dead - Battle
Length: 125 words -- Cost: 1 point
Range: Touch -- Duration: 3 questions
Material: Holy Symbol -- Area Effected: 1 creature
After casting the spell over the dead creature, the creature is bound to answer, truthfully or to the best of its knowledge, 3 questions of the caster to be answered with either Yes or No. Breaking contact with the dead creature breaks the spell. Soulless creatures are not affected.

Rank 2 - Purify Food and Drink - Adventure Spell
Length: 30 second meditation - Cost: 1 point
Range: Touch - Duration: Permanent
Material: Holy Symbol - Area Effected: 1 cubic foot
Casting this spell allows the Cavalier to purify and food and drink of any poisons, diseases or impurities.

Rank 2 - Sanctuary - Battle Spell
Length: 350 words - Cost: 1 point
Range: Self - Duration: Special
Material: Prism/Crystal - Area Effected: N/A
By invoking their deity and holding the crystal above their head with both hands, the Cavalier creates an invulnerable force field around themselves. The Cavalier is impervious to all attacks, even dispell magic. The spell remains in effect while the crystal is held above the player's head. Neither the hands nor the arms of the caster may rest upon their head or upon another object while the spell is in effect. No creature may come within 1 foot of the caster, nor may they attempt to grab the caster. Likewise, the caster must stay 1 foot away from other creatures as well.

Rank 3 - Truth Speak - Battle Spell

Range: Touch - Duration: 1 question
Material: None - Area Effected: 1 creature
The Cavalier who casts this spell is allowed to ask one creature one question which must be answer completely and truthfully. The Cavalier must be in contact with the creature for the entire duration of the casting or the spell is negated.

Rank 4 - Turn Undead - Adventure Spell
Length: 150 words - Cost: 1 spell point
Range: Throwing - Duration: Instant
Material: yellow spell ball - Area Effected: 1 creature
Determined by the rank of the caster and the type of undead, the spell may cause an undead creature to avoid the caster, be destroyed, or just be annoyed.

Rank 8 - Last Rites - Adventure Spell
Length: 250 words - Cost: 1 point
Range: Touch - Duration: Permanent
Material: Green headband w/ cross - Area Effected: 1 creature
Last Rites puts any one creature to eternal rest after it is dead. After the spell is cast, the creature may not be reanimated or regenerated by any means except by spending 12 minutes in Hades. Speak with Dead spells may not be used on those who Last Rites has been cast upon. Last Rites can only be used on dead creatures with the exception of undead, demons or summoned beings. When one of the three aforemention types of creatures is affected by Last Rites, living, dead or unliving, the creature is banished the Cavalier's plane for 12 minutes.
