Description: The Alchemist is a manipulator of the scientific and magical world. His skills lie within the ability to manipulate and transmute metals with the intent of solving the questions of the universe. The Alchemist must carry a round stone to represent his Philosopher’s Stone.
The Alchemist may wield one handed or two handed white weapons, spears or daggers.
Before Rank 10, the Alchemist may only wear armor of AC 4. The Alchemist may only wear metal armor (if any armor is to be worn) of AC 3 or AC 2 at or beyond Rank 10 to represent his mastery of the metals.

Phlogiston is the substance that makes wood burn and causes metal to rust. When the spellball hits an individual, any metal armor on that part of the body is rusted away. When the spellball hits a weapon or shield, it causes the weapon or shield to rust and burn away. The spell does no physical damage to the target player.

The Quinta Essentia is the material of which the human life force is made. The Alchemist is able to focus his abilities through the Philosopher’s Stone to manipulate the Quinta Essentia and heal the individual. The degree of focus depends on the rank of the Alchemist.
Rank 3: Quinta Essentia: Theory 1
Cost: 1 point – Length: 150 spell words
Quinta Essentia: Theory 1 allows the Alchemist to heal one light wound on the target creature.
Rank 6: Quinta Essentia: Theory 2
Cost: 1 point – Length: 225 spell words
Quinta Essentia: Theory 2 allows the Alchemist to heal all light wounds on the target creature.
Rank 9: Quinta Essentia: Theory 3
Cost: 2 points – Length: 315 spell words
Quinta Essentia: Theory 3 allows the Alchemist to heal mortal wounds on the target creature.
Rank 12: Quinta Essentia: Theory 4

Quinta Essentia: Theory 4 allows the Alchemist to resurrect the target creature.
Rank 4: Oil of Vitriol

The Oil of Vitriol is a potent substance and must be handled carefully. The spellball does red damage to anything it hits and will destroy leather armor on impact.
Rank 8: Aqua Tofani

Length: 400 words – Materials: Black and Green Spellball
Aqua Tofani is a highly poisonous substance when derived and wielded by the expert Alchemist. Upon impact, the spellball shatters and the target creature is mortally wounded from the poisonous fumes. The toxin is so intense that anyone coming into direct physical contact (including gloves and excluding weapons) with the poisoned individual received a light wound to the limb that came into contact with the individual. Any spell caster attempting to heal the affected individual is immune to this secondary effect.
